Here is an exterior rocky shoreline environment, along with a smaller interior cave environment, that I created for a new project that I am currently working on.
The tentacles, cliff rocks, and large shore rocks were sculpted from scratch in 3D-Coat, and all of the remaining assets were modeled in 3DS Max. All assets were also optimized and unwrapped in 3DS Max. All sculpted details were baked down using Substance Painter.
Vertex painting was used to apply the barnacles onto the shore rocks, while a spline mesh was used for the tidal pools and runoff.
The particle effects in this scene include rain, fog, and fire. There are also sound effects for the footsteps, waves, rain, and distant thunder.
(All assets in this environment are optimized and game-ready. LODs are also used.)
Software Used: 3ds Max, 3D-Coat, ZBrush, Substance Painter & Designer, UE4, GIMP, Photoshop.
